chinese new year

supposed chinese new year is meant to be all about family, right?

well, then it's no wonder that this year I haven't gotten into the mood of the celebration. yes, i bought new clothes -but that's a necessity for me- and yes, i helped my mother with some cookie-baking -but, that's just a responsibility i have as a daughter-

my friends were all very excited and looked forward to the celebration. sadly, even though i, myself are not in the mood, i try as hard as i can to be all cheery and happy for it.

how am i supposed to be happy to go through a celebration all about family when my family isn't complete to begin with?

i know i didn't completely forgive my father for landing our family into this predicament and all that, and i am still not ready to actually speak to him yet, but, i do wish for a family reunion dinner during the chinese new year. seeing that what i wish is completely impossible, then what is there to be look forward to?

You are very strong and independent girl, because of this you get experience and you will be better.

If you really cannot take it please find some of your frens to help you out, I guess they will understand.

Anyways, FAMILY doesn't just mean dad, mum, siblings. It can always be dad, mum, siblings, grandma, grandpa, cousins, aunties, etc. If you think that a family without a dad is not a family anymore, then how about me living without mum since Year4?

I guess it's just how you get things to work out differently as opposed to what they are supposed to be. Norm is not always good.

We can always be the minority with a 'special' family tree. Why not? Especially when it's livelier and crazier than any other ppl's family. Who cares there is a missing dad or mum, as long as it's united.

GOD made things in a way that you might not be able to understand WHY. Just bear with it. The answers will surface when the time comes.

Cheers,
ERJIE.
